Yellow Green Escher

Boxed Yello Green 1

 Boxed Yellow Green Escher

There are no end labels on this stone to declare the ‘official color’ – so I guess I can safely say this is a ‘green’ Escher, albeit one with an undetermined hue.

This is the best green-ish Escher I’ve ever used. It’s as good, if not better, than my blue/green version. Normally – I prefer the feel of the darker stones but this one has everything; the feel, size, and performance that I look for.

This one is softer but not annoyingly so. It’s a fast polisher but not really super fast like some Barber’s Delight Escher hones can be. The feedback is typical Escher; soft, silky, smooth and subtle.

For me - an Escher is an Escher – my thoughts/preferences based on color come from having used many of these stones and getting dialed into subtle nuances. I’ve not seen, heard of, touched, or even imagined an Escher that wasn’t a stellar straight razor finisher.  I like the harder stones because they’re harder, not because I think they’re inherently better.

All color issues aside, I like what I like and this stone is a favorite. The slurry stone is a bit darker but it does seem to be original to the kit. There was no end label on the stone but I do believe this to be a yellow-green stone.
