This is a smaller Chu Nagura bench stone, which is actually quite effective. The larger Chu Nagura Toishi are cut for Togishi (sword polishers) and they are often quite large and unmanageable for the average user.
This Chu is a mid-range option when honing straight razors. For cutlery, it would be a very high-ranking finisher or pre-finisher.
This is a very high-quality stone with fantastic consistency and feedback. It’s a little soft so it slurries quite easily, and honing on the resulting Togidoro is sublime.
