Tomo Glide Honing Oil

Next

What is Tomo Slide?

It’s an odorless, colorless, water-soluble, natural, organic, non-toxic, non-petroleum honing oil that seems to have a nearly indefinite shelf-life.

I’ve been testing it for a couple of years and it has performed perfectly 100% of the time.

It can be mixed with water to adjust the viscosity, and it can be cleaned up with water too.

I have tested this on Arkansas stones, Coticules, BBW, Escher hones, Welsh slates, Vosgienne, La Lune stones, barber hones, some unknown stones and one super hard Jnat also.

The rundown…

On various slate hones, Coticules, Arks and Jnats, there was no ingress into the stones at all.

My experiments were with my stones. My results may not be the same as your results.

So be prepared to deal with the results of any experimentation.

One Escher did show very light shadowing where I was honing, but I was unable to tell if it was from the lubricant or just a water spot. When the stone dried the discoloration went away so it may have just been water spotting.
