Like most leathers – buffalo hide can be tanned and stuffed a number of ways and, as a result, the resulting finish, weight, feel and texture can vary greatly.
This particular strop was cut from an exceptional piece of buffalo that was stuffed to the gills – one might think it would strop like Latigo but instead, the draw is pretty fast and light.
This one measures 3” wide, with about 19” of clear stropping space. The overall length from the top of the hook to the end of d-ring is approximately 28”.
This is a sterling heavyweight strop – the presentation is quite intense – it’s almost intimidating actually. In use – it’s a real joy to strop with; the feedback is super nice and clear and the speed is exceptional.
