Dark Blue Labeled Escher
Labeled Escher hones are a lock – you know you’re getting the real deal. Unmarked stones, or hones under different brand names ‘may’ be as good – but an Escher is an Escher and you can be sure it’ll be good. These hones are extremely easy to use and with some practice just about anyone can achieve very very nice edges to shave with.
This one has what I call the ‘simple’ label. You can see the Escher ‘cup’ logo with E&Co. in it – that verifies it as an Escher. The end label has the same markings.
This is a Dark Blue stone; it’s on the harder side of things but not extremely hard. It’s a little soft for a Dark Blue actually, which is both rare and nice. It’s a little slow, like most of the darker stones I’ve tried, and the edges it gives up are buttery smooth and very keen.
Escher razor hones are to be used with water or lather – never use oil or any other type of lubricant on these stones.
