Norton HB-25 Hard Arkansas

Norton HB25 1b.jpg

What do we have here? Well, it’s a 5x2” slab of translucent Arkansas stone, in the original box, with the original label, in NOS condition. This one dates to the 1940s, and considering the condition, age and overall rarity, I consider it to be a cornerstone piece for any collection.

This slice of novaculite features the black/white two-tone coloring. I love these stones, I have a larger piece that is a phenomenal razor finisher. This pocket-sized wonder is identical in quality; which puts it in contention as being one of the finest barber hones or travel hones ever.

This particular example has been graded as a “Jeweler’s Stone”. I have always found Norton’s stones with that claim on the box to be of extremely high quality.
