Habutae Hon Suita
This piece of Hon Suita can also be called Habutae or ‘rice cake’, it’s hard, dense and fine. It’s also quite fast – it’s a great bevel setter when used with Mikawa Botan Nagura slurry.
This is a fairly rare stone – the deepest stratum, Hon and Shiro Suita, were exhausted long ago. The stones from those layers were highly favored by traditional craftsmen for their speed and refinement capabilities.
