Mikawa Shiro Koma Nagura
This piece of Koma appears to have been well loved and quite used; patina like this can only come from decades of handling and use. The stamps seen in the photo are extremely similar, nearly identical actually, to the typical Asano stamps. However, I do not see any trace of the red Official Nagayuki stamp.
This is a very hard piece of Koma, exceedingly so. The slurry it produces is extremely fine with a slightly granular feeling. The abrasive paste can be worked for a very long time and the resulting edges are very keen.
Judging by the exposed working surface, the stone appears to be pure white.
