The handle is a cut-down 20mm cannon shell casing that was once-fired by an M61 Vulcan Gatling-type machine gun. The full caliber is 20x120mm M103.
The inside of the case and the primer pocket were sealed with 5-6 coats of lacquer to prevent verdigris from forming. The outside of the case was also sealed to enhance grip and eliminate the possibility of tarnishing. I added some ballast to the inside bottom of the case for added heft, balance and stability.
The knot is a custom ordered high-density 24mm two-band finest badger. It bowl lathers well, but it was designed for face lathering.
