Nakayama Maruka Kiita Iromono

Maruka Kiita 2

This is one of the nicer Maruka stamped Nakayama Toishi that I’ve had. The hardness is very good, not super hard but I’d say it’s in the hard to very-hard zone. This one is a little easier to use than one would expect – the speed is good, not super fast but still very good. This is absolutely one of the finest all-around hones I’ve ever used. If I only had this one stone – I’d be quite content. I’m not 110% positive on it being a Kiita - there is a hint of a greenish hue in this stone. However,  to me it’s waaay more Kiita than Asagi and I’ve never had an Asagi with any Iromono coloring - so I’m saying Kiita.
